Toronto Welsh Male Voice Choir
Newsletter – Fall 2014

Dear Friends/Patrons,

Firstly, on behalf of the TWMVC, thank you for your past support of our beloved choir, and hopefully we can welcome you at upcoming concerts. We have begun our 19th season with two successful and enjoyable concerts – both, incidentally, in barns. I’m not sure what this says about our group! We received a gracious welcome from our hosts in Campbellford on Sept 14th, and at Eden Mills on Sept 27th.

We next appear at the Church of St Timothy, on Sat, October 25th, for a most worthy cause, The Stephen Lewis Foundation (see the poster over the page). Hopefully, we will see many of you there.

Christmas Concerts – I almost hate to mention it during this lovely late summer weather. It feels a bit strange practicing Sleigh Ride in shorts and a t-shirt, but such is “showbiz”. There’s nothing like listening to a choir over the festive season – we have 2 this year: full details at

Sat Nov 29th at St Aidan’s in the Beaches
Sat Dec 13th at Calvin Presbyterian Church, Toronto

New Music – we are constantly rehearsing new numbers, as well as perfecting current repertoire; we want to give the best performance we can, every time we sing in public. Our program is carefully planned so that there is a nice mix of traditional Welsh songs (we are and always will be a “Welsh” choir), as well as some music that reflects our Canadian identity. Even though I say it myself, we received glowing praise from knowledgeable audiences during our Tour of Wales in July 2013. They were impressed with our diction, particularly in the Welsh songs – quite a testament to a choir made up largely of non-Welshmen.

This is our first experiment with a newsletter format – we would love to hear from you; what kind of things would you be interested in learning about our choir (if any). We would also like to hear about your experience of listening to the Toronto Welsh – do you have a favourite song – how did you first hear about us – have you brought any friends to listen to us? You can e-mail us directly at

If you have seen one of our concerts and enjoyed a performance, please leave a note in our online Guestbook. To sign our guestbook, please click here.

We are a registered Charitable Organization, and as such we have supported dozens of worthy causes over the years. We love to sing, and we love it even more when we know we are helping someone, somewhere. Let us know if you have an idea for a Toronto Welsh concert – perhaps you are part of a volunteer organization, Rotary Club, or your local church. All the money we make goes back into the choir, allowing us to continue doing what we love to do – SING. Click Here for more information on hosting a concert.

Best wishes, see you soon.
